Ingredients

  • 3 medium green apples, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 6 stalks rhubarb, diced into 1cm pieces
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 100g plain flour (see note 1 for GF)
  • 80g caster sugar
  • 90g unsalted butter (see note 2 for DF and VG)

Methods

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Cook the apples in ½ cup water in a saucepan over low heat until they begin to soften. Add the rhubarb and brown sugar to the saucepan and stir continuously, cooking until soft.
  3. Mix flour and caster sugar in mixing bowl, then rub butter through mixture with fingers, leaving small lumps.

    NOTE 1: Use gluten-free flour to make this recipe gluten free.

    NOTE 2: Use dairy-free margarine to make this recipe dairy free or vegan.

  4. Place rhubarb and apple mix into 4 small ovenproof dishes, and sprinkle with crumble mix.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until crumble is golden brown. Enjoy!
